Fern Alix LaRocca, CFP® (Certified Financial
Planner) and owner of Advanced Financial Designs.

Fern is principal of Advanced Financial Designs, a fee-only
registered investment advisory firm she founded in 1983 to help
individuals and small business owners define and achieve their financial
objectives through financial planning, investment management, and
tax preparation. She works with a team
of professionals to assist you with any of AFD's financial
planning services.
Fern supervises individual client portfolios and is a Certified Financial Planner licensee. She is a member of NAPFA (National Association for Personal Financial Advisors), the ICFP (Institute for Certified Financial Planners) and the FPA (Financial Planning Association).
Fern is a frequent speaker to local civic and professional groups, and has served as a resource for both local and national publications. She has conducted financial and tax planning seminars for Apple computer, Westinghouse, UC Santa Cruz, Litton, and others. She is active in community organizations such as Trips for Kids, a non-profit dedicated to taking underprivileged children on mountain biking trips and teaching them ecology. She also serves on the board of directors for a non-profit and a high tech start-up company in the Bay Area. Fern lives in San Francisco with her husband and enjoys hiking, biking, and skiing.
